Safety Training Tank Car CCPX 911

The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada's CCPX 911 tank car is a state-of-the-art rail safety tool.

As a virtual classroom on wheels, the CCPX 911 allows Association member-companies to train their employees and first-responder personnel, and has also been used at open houses and other public events as an educational tool to highlight the importance of the safe transportation of chemical products.

Developed in 1990, in partnership with rail car manufacturer Procor, Canadian National Railway and Canadian Pacific Railway, CCPX 911 is the first vehicle of its kind and is a key component in delivering Transportation Community Awareness and Emergency Response (TransCAER®). A valuable and supporting initiative of the Responsible Care® transportation code, TransCAER® is a national outreach effort that focuses on assisting communities in preparing for and responding to potential hazardous material transportation incidents.
