Environment and Sustainability

Members of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada make a commitment to protecting the environment when they adopt the Responsible Care® ethic and principles.

Responsible Care compels member companies to work for the improvement of people's lives and the environment, while striving to do no harm. It also compels companies to take preventative action to protect people's health and the environment. By working to conserve resources and being responsible stewards of their products, members of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada have put the environment and acting in sustainable ways at the heart of how they do business.

Companies regularly report their emissions (including greenhouse gases) to air, water and land and develop action plans to continually reduce their emissions. Since 1992, these emissions have been reported in the annual Reducing Emissions report which you'll find in this section.

Also in this section of the website, you'll find addtional information and resources about our association's work on environmental and sustainability issues.
